SFC TOUCH LAB explores the fundamental science of touch and applies the resulting insights to propose new forms of value created through tactile interaction. By appropriately integrating psychophysics, neuroscience, and engineering, we analyze human tactile perception and investigate the mechanisms underlying it. We also apply these findings to the development of haptic technologies, including tactile displays and sensors.<\/p>\n

In addition to haptics, we conduct research on crossmodal correspondences<\/a> \u2014 the systematic associations between different sensory modalities, such as touch, vision, audition, olfaction, and taste. We aim to deepen our understanding of multisensory perception and apply the knowledge to the design of richer and more intuitive interfaces and experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
